Do you never care about the brand? Sometimes I pay more for a certain brand, because I believe in it or only like that brand. Examples include San Marzano canned tomatoes, expensive olive oil, seltzer in cans sometimes, Charmin TP haha, etc.
One day I looked at my fridge and realized I made nearly an entire grocery shopping trip out of Wegman’s products. It was then I realized I have few brand loyalties at the intersection of food and budget. However, in the rare case I buy a treat like Oreo’s or Cheez-its, I get the brand name. Don’t screw around with treats; they fall under the “pure food joy” category, and deserve the extra buck.
Very interesting chart. Every check prices on certain items compared to online grocery stores?
I’ve found that online grocery stores (especially looked at Alice.com) are brand-only. Few coupons for brands end up being predictably lower than store brand.
